I just picked up this game the other day, thanks in part to a generous Aunt who donated some of her Best Buy Rewards points to my cause 🙂
I haven’t had a chance to play it much jsut yet, but the introduction narrated by Jeremy Clarkson is awesome (have seen this on YouTube already), and I think the Top Gear Test Track is available to drive in the game. I can’t wait for that. I know it’s just two runways with some creative use of space, but I have watched so many episodes, I am excited to see how I do in various cars.
I do have the Xbox Wireless Racing Wheel, but to be honest, the force-feedback is really strange in previous games when you are trying to drive straight. I think there is something wrong with the way the force-feedback interacts with the game. My drivers instincts always seem to contradict how the wheel will feel in the game. Unfortunately, I’m not sure that there anything better on the market that isn’t 3 times as expensive. And even so, the strangeness of the force-feedback system may be a quirk of the game programming and have nothing to do with which wheel is actually hooked up. It sounded like a really good idea to have a racing wheel, but in the end I really prefer the controller that I have used for years and gotten adept with.
