Save the Wales !

Save the Wales !!  As a prelude to the upcoming Wales Rally Great Britain WRC Event regarding former Subaru driver Richard Burns:

Leading drivers from the World Rally Championship

have helped to launch the Paint It Orange campaign to raise funds for the Richard Burns Foundation, the charity established following the death of the 2001 world rally champion.
Burns lost his battle with brain cancer in November 2005, four years after clinching the world crown. On the final day of next month’s Wales Rally GB, the 10-year anniversary of the Briton’s championship success will be honoured.

To mark the milestone, the Richard Burns Foundation is running the Paint It Orange campaign, which will encourage rally fans around the world to buy a commemorative T-shirt (modelled here by Citroen aces Sebastien Ogier, left, and Sebastien Loeb) to raise vital funds for the RBF in its efforts to support the work of the Brain & Spine Foundation in the United Kingdom.

Racing driver and Richard Burns Foundation patron Jason Plato said: “It’s staggering how many famous people are pulling these great orange T-shirts over their heads and inspiring the public to buy one too, especially if they are heading to Wales in a few weeks time. I confidently predict the valleys will be painted orange – it’s a great way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Richard’s greatest achievement.”

The Richard Burns Foundation is the official charity of Wales Rally GB. A limited number of Paint It Orange T-shirts, signed by stars from the WRC and Formula One, will be auctioned at a special event on the Saturday night of the world championship finale in Cardiff (12 November).
